• Malfini / Haitian Hawk (Buteo ridgwayi) — The Ridgway's Hawk, known as "Malfini" in Creole, is one of the rarest raptors in the world, found almost exclusively in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. With fewer than 500 remaining in the wild, it is a living symbol of endangered beauty and fierce survival.

• Haiti was once covered in over 60% forest. Today, less than 4% of its original forest remains making every surviving tree a monument of resistance.
